My 6 week old won’t sleep anywhere but in my arms or being held. Help!!

We can help! So much is still getting organized at six weeks and feeding and sleep is very definitely “on demand” without predictability (yet), and it’s natural for many babies to prefer being held! If it’s getting a little exhausting for you you can try working on some baby steps like using a great swaddle, plenty of wind down time before a nap, lowering gently into a swing or seat for daytime napping where your baby can be observed for safety, trying to gently rock or jiggle the seat or swing to help the nap “stick” there for a bit! Try to avoid overtiredness, nap your baby frequently, use sucking or feedings to help you accomplish this if needed. As always – SO much more to say about six week old sleep, this is a very quick quick overview!!
