When should you move your baby to a nursery?
Is there a good time to move your baby from your room to a crib in their own room? With all this information out there about SIDS it makes me nervous. But I also just read an article that said 2 months was a good age.
You can start by introducing her to a crib or travel crib in her nursery during the day when you can be observing her while she sleeps, and you can also start to introduce positive crib associations in the form of massage, lullabies, dressing into pjs, etc by laying her in her crib at times when she is calm and happy. You can do her bedtime routine in her nursery as well. This will all help her feel comfortable with her eventual room and crib and when the time comes, the change won’t feel quite so abrupt! The AAP recommends six months of room sharing with your baby to help reduce the risk of SIDS.
